A letter/digit Enigma this week – nice one too (although doing it on the train caused me to miss my stop!!!). Probably 45-50 mins.

Another new word – eupeptic: cheerful, optimistic.

New word – thrasonical: Bragging or boastful. Also added a new link to Ananova – the virtual newscaster.

Interesting enigma – did it by brute force in probably 45-50 minutes, but think there’s probably a trick I missed!

Very easy enigma – 15 mins on the train.

Nice enigma this week. Took me an hour, but I wrote a computer program to do it’cos my mental arithmatic isn’t working properly (too much marking!!)

Two new words: distrait (“dih-stray”): withdrawn in attention, or distracted. hortative (“HOR-tut-tihv”): giving exhortation, or advisory. I get words in a daily mailout from Merriam-Webster. They have word games too!

‘peasy enigma this week – 50 mins to do, of which 35 were looking at it from every possible angle because it can’t be that easy (either it is, or I’ve got it wrong.) Might just be easy compared to last week’s tho.

New word – “chthonic” (THAH-nik). Means of or relating to the underworld. This week’s Enigma is also a bit tricky – took me 2 Hrs+ (with a calculator!)
